About Us
The Adelaide Education Group (AEG) embarked on its journey two decades ago, evolving from a single institution into a comprehensive educational organisation that now includes high school, vocational education, higher education, and more recently, research. Under the visionary leadership of Don Chen, its Founder and Managing Director, AEG has grown into a dynamic and thriving entity. AEG's relentless pursuit of creating an educational ecosystem that spans from early childhood to higher education, coupled with its entrepreneurial spirit, has shaped the Group into an organisation where students are provided an enriching environment to learn, grow, and succeed. The Founder's guidance has been instrumental in keeping AEG at the forefront of delivering exceptional educational opportunities at various stages of life.
At the core of AEG’s growth and success are its values of diversity, inclusivity, global citizenship, and enriching lives and communities through education. These values are embedded in every aspect of the Group's operations, ensuring that it offers educational opportunities that not only meet the academic needs of its students, encourage professional development of its staff, but also help shape a more equitable and interconnected world. AEG embraces the richness of diverse perspectives and works to create an inclusive environment where every individual can thrive, regardless of background. As global citizens, we are committed to fostering cross-cultural understanding and contributing to the well-being of the global community. AEG's mission to bring prosperity to communities reflects our belief in the transformative power of education, not just for the individual, but for society as a whole.
In 2010, AEG’s first member, the Adelaide Institute of Business and Technology (AIBT), started delivering a variety of pathways to further study and career advancement. It achieved a significant milestone when it became a Registered Training Organisation with the Australian Skills Authority in 2019. AIBT thereafter expanded its reach by working with schools to provide a superior Vocational Education and Training for Schools (VET for Schools) Program. The courses in Business Administration and ICT focus on practical pathways into the workforce, continuing AEG’s commitment to accentuate education that meets the needs of both students and employers.
In 2015, AEG introduced the Adelaide International School (AIS) and commenced its delivery of programs in 2016. What started as an EAP School now provides opportunities to international students to undertake SACE and VET pathways. In 2018, the school expanded by forming the Adelaide Independent Schools Alliance (AISA), an EAP collaboration with initially 13 other premium independent schools which has since increased to 19 member schools. AIS became the first approved Cambridge international school in South Australia in 2024 and has started offering IGCSE to Year 10 students and A-levels to domestic and international students in Years 11 and 12.
2019 marked another significant milestone for AEG with the establishment of the Adelaide Institute of Higher Education (AIHE), which introduced an innovative Bachelor of Business Course. Today, the Bachelor of Business Course offers a Minor in Marketing and a Major in Hospitality. AIHE continues to expand and has started delivering a Master of Business Administration Course with specialisations in Marketing Management, Management Information Systems, Care Management, and Hospitality and Event Management. Since 2023, it started delivering a Graduate Certificate in Management Program and a Study Abroad Program, further diversifying its education offerings.
AEG's presence extends across two vibrant campuses in Adelaide and Melbourne, both Australian cities consistently ranking among the world's best for livability, beauty, and cultural diversity. These cities provide the perfect environment for learning, attracting students from around the globe.
Looking ahead, AEG is focused on expanding its course offerings, including new programs that provide clear pathways to work and further education. These initiatives will ensure that AEG continues to equip students with skills and opportunities necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.
